Good Morning and Happy Monday!
What a blur of a weekend with meetings, soccer, hockey, work, and a SK Roughrider win! I am grateful that I have the opportunity to experience so many great things with so many people. Oh, and 44 Days until Christmas, and I can't wait! But enough about that, let's get to your morning Java...
A Cup of Coffee
Grounded by politics. Flight cancellations quadrupled Friday morning after the FAA began reducing capacity at 40 airports as a result of the shutdown, with Cirium estimating 1,800 flights could be affected as the cuts expand.
Nvidia’s China forecast remains zero. Jensen Huang reiterated that export rules and Beijing’s stance have erased the company’s business and that any reopening would be a bonus, not a base case.
Tesla gave Musk his $1 trillion, yes. After shareholders locked in his record pay package, he vowed flying cars by 2026, self-driving features that allow texting, humanoid robots “by the million,” and a Tesla chip fab to power it all.
America’s homespun weather guide is retiring. The Farmers’ Almanac, first published in 1818, will stop printing after 2026, ending a run that outlasted 49 presidents and most modern forecasting tools.

On November 10, 1952, the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) aired its very first English-language television broadcast from Toronto. This milestone marked the beginning of Canadian television and helped bring communities across the country closer together through news, sports, and entertainment.
A Little Snack
Stocks finished mostly higher despite another weak day for tech, with the Nasdaq slightly lower.
Materials, energy, and consumer staples gained more than 1%, helping lift the Dow and S&P 500.
S&P 500 ended the week down 1.6%, led lower by tech, though still up more than 14% year-to-date.
Overseas markets fell, with Japan’s Nikkei down 4% for the week and Europe also lower.
Movers & Shakers
(+) Expedia ($EXPE) +18% after the travel booking company raised its guidance.
(+) Peloton ($PTON) +14% because the stationary bike company released a strong earnings report.
(–) Sweetgreen ($SG) -7% after the salad chain announced lower same-store sales.
